Sweet Corn joins lineup at Schmieding Produce

Schmieding Produce LLC — a subsidiary of The Woerner Food and Ag Group — is getting into the Florida sweet corn deal.   Schmieding Produce will supply sweet corn grown on its farms in Belle Glade, Fla., from April 24 to May 31, according to a news release. “We are excited about launching our Florida sweet corn production, enabling us to supply quality sweet corn to our retail and wholesale customers,” Scott McDulin, vice president of marketing/retail, said in the release. “Sweet corn is a great addition to our current portfolio of potatoes, watermelons, pumpkins and carrots,” McDulin added.  After the Florida deal, Schmieding Produce will move production to its Alabama and Georgia farms beginning June 1 to July 4, the release said.

Woerner acquires Cañon Potato

Cañon Potato Co. has been acquired by Woerner Holdings Inc. and Woerner subsidiary H.C. Schmieding Produce Co. will market and distribute potatoes from Cañon’s Center, Colo., facility.
